Interest in Pinterest is getting hotter!

When I and even many others, thought that after the existence of biggies like Facebook, Google and Twitter, there would be a little chance for another ‘viral-social-media’ to come to the main fora, here we have… Pinterestgaining momentum and is even being compared to Twitter as the next big thing! Of course, Pinterest is different. Its a nice, fun way of ‘pinning’ your favorite designs, photos, images or anything (with an image) on your ‘boards’. Having another social-connector like G+, for example, with the same old ideas, people would not want to switch from the super stable and overloaded facebook. That’s what I think, and that’s what appealed to me when I first glanced through Pinterest. Do you know all about “The Seven Wonders”?

New 7 Wonders of the World

“The Seven Wonders”… why only seven, and why ‘wonders’? Well this traces back to 1st Century BC and I leave it all to our ancestors. However, during the ancient ages, the Hellenic people (from the area around Greece) traveled around the present European soil and discovered these man-made ‘wonders’. Yes. Aamir does make money with ‘Satyamev Jayate’. So what?

In recent times, here in India, I’ve noticed that every simple thought, for profit or otherwise, has been accompanied with a lot of flak; be it The Anna Hazare movement, introduction of FDI, inducting Sachin and Rekha into the Parliament, the recent political anger over silly cartoons and now ‘Satyameva Jayate‘. Yes, of course, we are a democracy and have a say in everything… but do we really? Don’t you think these ‘movements’ or ‘initiatives’ have come into the forefront, because we DON’T usually have a say in anything?! Having said that, in a mashed and mixed democracy like ours, it’s important to know the one that voices his /her opinion and what he/she represents. I did want to write before on the political fiasco dragging on since UPA 2 regime, but then was disgusted; I had to make some comment on Aamir’s new venture!

Inspirers: TEDxNMAMIT

I wake up at 6.30 am in the very relaxing and lazy morning of March 4th 2012, Sunday. I suddenly realize that I quickly need to brush my teeth, dress up in crisp formals and hurry to the bus stop within 7.15 am. My friend had arranged the tickets for the two of us, without which I’d still be snoring in my bed. I was really hesitant to make it happen… come on… it’s a Sunday, and I can always watch the videos of the talks later. But then… although still really lazy… I just went for it.
I was on my way to attend my first ever TED talk at TEDxNMAMIT, hosted in my college NMAMIT, which gave me my degree, my job and my career.
Note: The “quoted” lines in this article are from the TED talk of the speaker in context.
